Chipotle Maple Buffalo Burgers

These Chipotle Maple Buffalo Burgers are so juicy and delicious. Kent made Chef Jesse Ziff Cool's Chipotle Turkey Meatballs for dinner a few weeks ago and we loved that recipe so much we adapted it to our famous buffalo burger recipe. Buffalo (also called Bison) is very lean, but can be dry when overcooked. This buffalo burger recipe solves the issue and these Chipotle Maple Buffalo Burgers are juicy, flavorful and delicious and are sure to please your family and friends.

1/2 medium yellow onion, grated
1 small carrot, grated
3 slices whole wheat bread, crust removed and cut into small cubes
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1 teaspoon sea salt
1.5 lbs fresh ground buffalo
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup organic chicken broth
3/4 cup Big Acres® Chipotle Maple BBQ Sauce  
4 Whole Wheat Buns with Sesame Seeds
Lettuce, tomato, avocado, grilled onions, condiments

In a large bowl, mix together onion, carrots, bread, basil and salt. Add buffalo and mix thoroughly. Beat together the egg and chicken broth and add to burger mixture. Make 4 buffalo burgers and grill slowly over a medium grill until done or internal temperature reaches 155 to 160 degrees. Remove burgers from grill. Spoon sauce over burgers and allow meat to rest for 5 minutes before building buffalo burgers. Serve immediately.
