We Survived the Fiery Foods Show!

In March, we took Big Acres'Sauces on the road to Albuquerque for the Fiery Foods Show. We had a great time and met a lot of wonderful people (attended by 20,000 people in 3 days). Now we're welcoming all our newcomers from New Mexico to our newsletter list! See the results of our "Win a Grill for Peanuts" contest below. Also in this issue, see a list of new stores, upcoming events, and our recipe of the month -- Hot & Spicy Pulled Pork!

Win a Grill for Peanuts Contest
At the Fiery Foods Show, Melanie's Fine Foods held its first ever "Win a Grill for Peanuts" contest to promote their Chipotle Peanut Sauce. The lucky winner, Kenny DeLapp, Singer, Songwriter, Pilot, Father, of Albuquerque, New Mexico entered the winning estimate of 1,856 peanuts. The very large jar in our booth held 1,875 peanuts and hundreds of people entered the contest. Kenny received a George Foreman tabletop grill and a gift box of Big Acres Sauces, including our Chipotle Peanut Sauce.

Let us tell you that the Fiery Foods Show is an incredible experience! This show featured about 250 chilehead vendors with products ranging from habanero pineapple upside-down cake to 100s of hot sauces, barbeque sauces, jams, jellies, goat cheeses, chile lights, chile plants, clothes, art, and chiles from all over the world. We fed more than 3,000 people over a 3-day period and sold out of sauce before the end of the show.

Upcoming Events
Our next event is a fundraiser called the Culinary Classic in Salinas, CA on April 23rd and 24th. Friday night will feature hors d'oeuvres by celebrity chefs and Saturday includes a wine tasting.

Also, it's time to order your gift boxes for Administrative Professionals Day on April 21 and Mother's Day on May 2. Let us ship your gift along with your personalized message! Use our online order form.

Recipe of the Month
Kent & Melanie often serve pulled pork at events. So many people have asked for the recipe that we decided to include it here! We hope you like it!

Slow-Cooked Hot & Spicy Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Serves 8

16 oz. Organic Chicken Broth
3 bottles Big Acres Hot & Spicy Barbeque Sauce
1/4 c. cider vinegar
5 lbs. Pork Loin, fat trimmed
Kaiser Rolls

In large bowl, mix together broth, barbeque sauce and vinegar. Trim fat from pork and place in crock pot, add broth mixture to cover. Slow cook for 8 to 10 hours. Drain liquid. Shred meat, add 2 more bottles of Barbeque Sauce and mix to cover. Serve on Kaiser rolls with a fresh green salad and baked beans on the side.

Substitute Rich & Mild Barbeque Sauce for a milder flavor.

That's it -- until next month!

Happy Easter and Passover!
